Regional Focus Group Discussion on the First Draft Strategic Plan for Ukrainian Judiciary

On May 18, 2012, the USAID FAIR Justice Project (FAIR) will conduct a regional focus group discussion with judges and courts staff in Odesa to review the first draft strategic plan for Ukrainian judiciary in order to get their feedback and comments and reach the consensus regarding the areas of the draft plan.

Roundtable on a draft Code of Judicial Ethics in Odesa

On May 17, 2012, the USAID FAIR Justice Project (FAIR) in cooperation with the Council of Judges (COJ) will conduct a roundtable in Odesa to discuss a draft Code of Judicial Ethics prepared by the COJ Expert Group. The key stakeholders are invited to the meeting including judges of different jurisdictions and instances from Odesa, Kherson, and Mykolaiv Oblasts.

Two Day Training for Test Items Writers
On May 17-18, 2012, the High Qualifications Commission of the Judges of Ukraine and the National School of Judges of Ukraine under the USAID FAIR Justice Project (FAIR) support will conduct two day training for test items writers. During the event, test items writers will obtain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in test items drafting, validation and improving.

Fourth Meeting of the Working Group on the Development of the National Court Performance Evaluation Standards

On April 27, 2012, the FAIR Justice Project (FAIR) in cooperation with the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine (SJA) and the Council of Judges of Ukraine (COJ) will conduct a fourth meeting of the FAIR-supported Working Group on the Development of the National Court Performance Evaluation Standards. The agenda will include final review and approval of the developed by FAIR experts methodology and the action plan to launch piloting stage of court performance standards evaluation in fourteen Ukrainian courts includingthe High Civil and Criminal Court.

Meeting of the Working Group on Legal Education Reform
On April 26, 2012, The FAIR Justice Project in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Project Coordinator in Ukraine will conduct the meeting of the legal education reform working group. Deans of the leading law faculties in Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine, Committee of the Verkhovna Rada for Science and Education, as well as Ukrainian experts will be invited to attend the meeting.
